PAGE 101 : 100 Days at the Gym: My Story
MIND MUSINGS:
One of the quotes that has made me wonder how it is possible is “ Gym is not only for physical fitness, it’s also for the mental fitness.”. I have thought a lot about it and tried to find the answer to it but I was not able to see it until I started going to the gym. I restarted my gym journey again. Now it’s more than 100 days that I consistently go to the gym. This made me understand the truth and the power of those words. The decision that I took to join a gym again is one of the best things I have done recently. It was game-changing.
Working out regularly has made my confidence reach a new level. I started believing that our confidence was getting higher because we began to notice ourselves more and put ourselves as the priority. To me personally, The way I see myself and the way I present myself has drastically changed. I think the reason behind the improvement of mental health is working out will give us more opportunities to interact and acknowledge the emotions, distractions and messiness that we go through in our journey. Sometimes we might come up with some solutions too. There are times when I have got into the gym with so much confusion and come out with a clear mind. Yes, It happened. The two most important lessons that I have from my gym journey are. When you know the purpose of the pain you go through, it won't hurt much. Every day when I go to the gym and see my workout plan, I can predict where I gonna feel the pain but it never scared me because I know why it’s happening and I can sense the aftermath. This has created an impact on my mindset of trying to understand the purpose of the pain that I go through in my journey. It’s not that you won’t feel the pain anymore, you will feel the pain and of course, it will be challenging to pass but you can handle those with some hope and a positive mindset. The next thing is developing a mindset of doing things irrespective of our state. There are many days where I have thought of stopping going to the gym or skipping a couple of days but whenever I feel it the thing that I say to myself is discipline is not doing things when we feel good. it’s about doing things when we are not good or feeling uncomfortable. I started showing up to the gym irrespective of my mindset or situation which has made me fall in love with being uncomfortable and pushing my limits. Working out and going to the gym has become my self-time where I get disconnected from the outer world and just focus on myself. One of the most important things that I have gained is knowledge about my body and the impact of good or bad food on our body. It’s been an amazing one so far and hoping for the best in the future. One thing I would like to recommend to you folks is to start doing some physical activity daily. There is no force that you need to go to the gym, you can do it in your house too, there are plenty of apps and YouTube channels that guide you. Once you start it, I bet you that you will start enjoying it. Health is one of the top priorities. So have a look at it. Best of luck.
